It is time for Liberals to fish or cut bait. The Liberals have to decide if they want to be independent of Donald Trump’s America or not. There is only “one way” to be independent of Donald Trump economically for Canada and that is to swiftly and totally unlock Alberta energy, moving oil and LNG to tidewater to sell to Europe and unlock additional capacity to move oil and LNG to Prince Rupert, B.C. to sell to Asia. If Mark Carney and the Liberals continue their indecision by refusing to abolish C-69 (no pipeline bill), C-48 (no oil tanker bill) and not announcing any new pipelines, then Donald Trump has won. Canada’s economic fate will be decided in Washington.

Floodgates opened

Every Canadian knows that there is a housing and rent crisis in Canada. On top of that, all of our infrastructure and other public services are overwhelmed. Why, because the Trudeau Liberals opened the immigration floodgates. 2023 and 2024 saw more than 1.3 million immigrants each year. And now this year Mark Carney is on track to add 2.4 million immigrants. This is not a mistake. This is being done on purpose by the Liberals. They want social chaos, racism, division and poverty. The end of Canada is coming.

Troubling Byelection

What’s happening in the Battle River-Crowfoot riding is more than just a spectacle, it’s a symptom of a deeper political malaise. With 209 candidates registered for a single federal byelection, we’re stretching the bounds of legality to the brink of absurdity. Just because the law allows something doesn’t mean it must be exhausted to its extreme. Where’s the sportsmanship? Where’s the statesmanship? This isn’t merely about an overpopulated ballot. It reflects a broader culture of exploitation, where rules are bent not to serve the electorate but to score ideological points. Flooding the ballot in protest, no matter how righteous the motive, undermines the integrity of the democratic process.

(Serving the electorate should always be the priority.)

A cloudy sign

Has anyone noticed that ever since Mayor Gondek decided to spend $5 million-plus on changing Calgary’s call sign to “Blue Sky City” we’ve had more rainy, cloudy days than clear, sunny nice ones? I think the universe is trying to tell us something. Coincidence my left foot!

John Hancock

(It is ironic.)
